Staff Checks helps companies request and provide references for new employees. The company had a successful traditional model but saw a gap in the market for a digital solution.
I started by investigating opportunity for them to build an understanding of the market-place, audience and the existing competition. This report allowed the company to judge whether it was a worthy investment, out-lined how we could create a product that will outshine the competition and to recommend a to-market strategy.
I suggested that there was a hunger for a one-stop shop and unveiled a technology solution that not only solved this problem but made the product more profitable.
I went on to manage the development of the platform to deliver a minimum viable product (MVP) in time and under budget.
I used an Agile style project management process to manage external developers and designers to help build the system using PHP, Mysql, CSS, HTML and Jquery.
One of the USPs of the Staff Checks system was its ability to integrate with many API’s using Restful and Soap connections. This meant that the system became a one-stop-shop for being able to check everything from right-to-work to DBS.
The end product has been such a revolution in the market-place.
